An impressive career can conceal some of the darkest stories beneath. The winner of the USA and World championships in hurdle events, Lolo Jones has reached her current position after an arduous process and enormous amount of perseverance. She was the only child of a single mom and a five children, Jones had a difficult and impoverished growing up. Her mother was constantly on the move and even lived in the basement of a church for a brief duration. A life of constant movement forced Jones to attend the same school each year until the time she entered in high school. While at Theodore Roosevelt High School, Jones resided apart from her mother to follow her passion for athletics. Jones lived in four different residences during her high school years in order to study at a single location. Jones as a cellist in the school's orchestra, and the winner of the Gatorade Track and Field Iowa athlete of the year gave her the Gatorade Iowa Athlete award at the conclusion of high school. Jon...
